When I interviewed with these people it sounded like they wanted a miracle worker. I told them I wasn't. But they hired me anyway.
Then after I worked for them a week it turned out they really did want a miracle worker. The guy prior to me had made all kinds of f*cking messes and they wanted me to come in and bless everything and make it right. That ain't the way it works when you program computers. So I quit after a week.
Luck me that was when Motorola wanted to hire me back. Motorola had fired me before the Christmas break and now wanted to hire me back. I went back to Motorola and worked there another 3 years.
Jim Condon got me this job and he was pissed when I quit. But so much for that. He also quit and went back to Intel.
